It Was Time to Spice it up

Hello!! This weekend I was needing a change for decorating. I have a jar on my entertainment center that has been the same for five months and I wanted it to change. I knew I wanted to place something summery inside. This idea came to my mind. I think it is fun.

I wanted sand in the bottom of the jar, but I couldn't find a little bag of sand. I was able to find two bags of sea shells at the dollar store. I found my shovels out in my shed. This was a cheap way to change my jar. I have enjoyed this change.

Have a wonderful day!!

Whenever I Hear The Song of a Bird...

"Whenever I hear the song of a bird or look at the blue, blue sky. Whenever I feel the rain on my face or the wind as it rushes by, whenever I touch a velvet rose or walk by our lilac tree, I'm glad that I live in this beautiful world Heavenly Father created for me."
We have had some beautiful scenery just in the past month. Whenever it happened we would rush to grab the camera so we could have these pictures. Just thought I would share what we have seen out our front door.

I got three rose bushes for Mother's Day. This was the first bush that produced a rose. My favorite kind of bush.

We have had some really nice rain storms, at the end of one rain storm we looked out and saw this rainbow.

Lastly but not least I looked out the window one morning and saw these two deer on our property. Again I had to grab the camera because this doesn't happen every day. It was fun watching these deer.

I hope you enjoyed the scenery. Have a great week!!

I can't believe it...

I can't believe it has been four weeks since school has been out. The summer is going by faster than I would like. I have been trying hard to have fun activities for my kids to do. Even though we have a little set back this summer I don't want my kids to have the burden.

  • So, thanks to prayer I have been able to come up with some good things we have done so far. Like we have played water games at the park, have a library day, a be creative day, and just yesterday we played water tag with a spray bottle. I bought each person their own spray bottle from Walmart (.97 cents) and took it to the park to play tag, and just a spray water fight. It actually was a lot of fun. I think everyone liked it.

We drove 40 miles from here to go find a pond. We are reading Trumpet of the Swan and so we thought it would be fun to go explore around a pond. It didn't go so well because it rained on us, and we took our dogs. So we will have to do that one again without the dogs.

I guess I have learned that it is doing the little things that create a fun family. We don't have to spend a lot of money and go on fancy trips, it is just doing something together. What a great lesson to learn. I suppose something I needed to learn.

Hello...Will Anyone Know?

I am ready to return to blogland. I think I have taken a three week break. I thought we were going to have to turn our internet off, but we opted to keep it running. Three weeks ago my husband was laid off of his job. Like so many others out in the country know exactly what we were going through. There is so much shock, denial, madness, stress, thoughts to blow up the business that laid your husband off, and a few tears.

After the first week it started getting better. Reality sits in and you try to come up with a plan, but then you remember that it is hard to make plans when the Lord might have a different idea. So, you pray and pray and pray and pray and pray some more just to get comfort and peace and a mind that can hear the inspiration that you need. After prayer and fasting and attending the temple we are still clueless. So, the poor husband applies and applies and applies and applies and applies some more hoping for a phone call. You then decide to apply and where ever you get a job is where you move. This is what we are doing.

We have applied all over the country and willing to go where ever the Lord takes us. We know that Heavenly Father is in charge and all we can do is do our part here to start the process for something to happen, but realize that only the Lord and Heavenly Father can open doors.

Here I am today feeling a lot better than I was three weeks ago. I feel stronger and know that I can survive this tribulation we have been placed with. I will have faith.

The other day while I was reading the scriptures I wanted a scripture that I could have my girls look up to read out loud to me and this is the one that came to my mind. I was very excited because I was able to explain that the Lord has asked us to find a new job and possibly a new place to live. I then explained that the Lord has promised that He will prepare a way for us to do this. So, the scriptures can bring us comfort and answers.

And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them. 1 Nephi 3:7

I'm happy to be back and I will be visiting the ladies that I had learned to appreciate through blogging. I hope to see any of you soon.
